South African Socks for June

These socks were designed and knitted for a South African friend as a gift for his wedding which is this Saturday 16th June. He's getting married in Italy so I had to gift them yesterday, which was his last day at work before flying out to Italy. Stupidly I forgot to take a photo of the finished pair (doh!) so will have to wait until he's back....however here's a photo of 1 and a bit socks....

The colours are those of the South African flag

Pattern = loosely based on the Plain Winter Sock from Knitting Vintage socks, plain garter stitch with a Dutch Heel

Yarn - 4ply black and red sock wool, blue is Rowan 4ply Botany, yellow and green is Lornas Laces Shepherds Socks.

Needles = 2.5mm bamboo dpns
