July Hiking Socks
I missed finishing these for June, but wrapped them up just a few days into July. The Hubby took them with him on his backpacking trip to Glacier National Park and raved about their fit and blister prevention! :) *They are his first pair of handknit socks, so maybe there will be future requests . . .
Pattern: Diana's Trail Socks from Mountain Colors
Yarn: Cascade 220 Superwash
Needles: US4 Addis
Mods: Used worsted weight rather than DK so I wouldn't have to resize it for a man's foot.

Gorgeous!
We're going to Glacier! Is it the pattern that is blister-preveting, or socks that fit?
My husband says it was a combination. He thought the ribbing made the socks fit better, but I tend to think it was that they were wool. The first day he wore some wool socks with nylon liners (to wick away moisture). The nylon liners wicked away moisture, but they also were abrasive on the ball of his feet under his toes. My wool ones still absorb moisture, but apparently they were softer and more comfy.
Have a great trip!
