Two down so far

I've finished two pairs of socks so far this month. Most of the knitting was done in January; the final couple of inches and sewing in the ends was done last weekend.

The blue striped pair is for my husband. He likes the way the stripe V's around the heel. It's plain stockinette, nothing fancy. One sock had to be ripped to shorten the foot, so one sock is toe-up, and the other is kitchenered. Full saga is on my Yarnfloozies blog.

The second pair is in Regia Silk, for one of my co-workers. She's a prairie girl, so really liked the wheat pattern when I showed it to her. The pattern name is Kansas Harvest socks, available for free from the Townsend Socks KAL yahoogroup.

Here's a closeup of the wheat pattern.

And finally, started last weekend for me — a pair in Austermann Step. This is just flying off the needles; I didn't expect it to knit up so quickly. I'm totally in love with this yarn. It's also plain stockinette, but I did a spiral rib for the cuff just to get some variety. Now I'm going shopping for more Step yarn — it was cheapest from Double Diamond Knits (NAYY).

I'm trying to do a gift pair, then a pair for me, but so far this year I've knit 4 pairs of socks and this is the first pair for me. So next in my queue will be another pair for me, in Knitpicks Memories. And then after that will be a pair for my sister-in-law, for her birthday.
