Lithuanian Amber Socks -- June

Hello socksters!

I finished my June socks on Friday, on a road trip. I had been hoping to finish them and post them before we left, but naturally nothing worked out according to my plans. I just got back tonight and wanted to get these posted. They're Lithuanian Amber Socks from Nancy Bush's Folk Socks, knit in Shepherd's Colour4Me worsted weight yarn.

Happy knitting, all!

April Socks FINISHED

FINALLY I can blog about one of my pairs of April socks (I don't have a picture of the other pair... yet).

These socks...

were finished and mailed to my Bloomin' Feet pal in April, but Canada Post took (what seemed like) an eternity to deliver them.

April Socks - Mexicali Peppers

Mexicali Peppers - April

Yarn: Mexicali Peppers by Perchance to Knit
Pattern: Gentleman's Fancy Stockings by Nancy Bush in Knitting Vintage Socks
Needles: Size 1 US Knit Picks circs
Modifications: Cast on fewer stitches

I almost didn't finish these socks. I lost the faith. When I got to the heel of the second sock I was convinced I didn't have enough yarn to finish so I put them aside and knit a different sock. After finishing that sock and realizing it didn't fit, I returned to this sock and figured I'd go as far as I could and then come up with a solution. I ended up with more than enough yarn without having to change anything.

I love these socks. The yarn was so bright and cheerful. It got me through a very dreary, rainy April. The pattern is fun and easy and makes for a well fitting sock.

I'll post more details on my blog tomorrow.

Daffodil Socks For Spring!

I thought this color was perfect for spring. The yarn is Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in Daffodil. I used the Madder Rib Pattern from Knitting Vintage Socks by Nancy Bush. The toes on these socks are very pointy as you can tell from the picture. The last time I knit this pattern I modified the toe but this time I did it Nancy's way.I also didn't try to match the two socks for the first time, I just knit them as they came.  These socks are also my Project Spectrum entry for the month!
