May Socks

I have the May socks finished but I am waiting for the dang cord (for my camera) I purchased on Ebay to arrive. I bought it on the 16th and it still has not gotten here; can you believe it?

Anyway, I finished a pair of socks last night while doing a virtual SnB on Skype with my podcast buddies Stephanie and Shannon. So, the socks are done...just don't have a dang picture, hopefully soon *crossing fingers*.

Harloony Socks

I ask you, what better place to start my April socks but at the Harlot's book singing? Nope, I couldn't think of anyplace either!

These are basic stockinette stitch socks...really, I just wanted the self stripping yarn to do all the magic! Yarn is Lana Grossa but I can't find the ball band so I don't know what the color is...sorry!

The full story about the Harlot Visit is written on my blog or get a verbal account of the events on my podcast!

These socks go to my sister in law Ashley who fell in love with them as soon as she saw them!

I have quite a bit left over. I think I am going to do some toe up kid socks for my daughter! She loves these colors.

Here is a picture of Jill's (her very first pair of socks ever!) and My socks together! Both started at the Harlot and finished just days later!

Okay, next on my needles or hook will be a UFO! Really, why do you laugh? I am serious, I am going to actually finish one of the many UFO's in my pile. I mean it...stop laughing at me! You'll see! LOL

Swipper No Swipping!

I know I already have one pair done for March but I thought I would post the second pair I finished while on vacation.

(me sitting in airport in Denver waiting for plane)

I named these the Never Ending Socks as it seemed I would never get them done. No matter how much I tried to make time to work on them I constantly had to put them down to work on something else more urgent.

Furthermore, these socks were actually supposed to be for me! So of course I had to finish them!
However, you know how some things don't turn out the way you want them too? I was showing my mom the socks the other day to point out the flaw in the stripping.

Can you see it? Look closely, notice the brown? That is right, missing an entire brown row! I didn't notice this until the entire sock was finished. Then, considering that I was using the stripes as the measurement for when to start my toe decrease, one sock is a little smaller than the other. I was willing to live with this little mistake to finally have my first pair of handknit socks but my mom saw it another way.

Like Swipper the Fox, she quickly reached out her hand and snagged the socks out of mine and shoved them in her robe...declaring them hers! All she needed to say next was "You're Too Late! You'll never find your precious socks now!"

One one hand, I am totally flattered; but on the other, I am totally pissed! I wanted those socks! Oh well, what is done is done. She did put the socks on immediately and let me at least take these pictures of them before she took them away forever. So, my 2nd March socks have come and gone, just like my first March socks.

Maybe I will get to keep April's socks. I just won't show ANYBODY!

Je Suis Finis!

Well I not only finished my first pair of February Socks but I FINALLY finished these socks for a friend who I told would have her socks last Aug. I know, I have been a bad friend. But, now they are done and I can cross it off my list of things to do. What a relief!

These are made out of 1 and a half balls of Regia Yarn which was purchased on my CRAZY TRIP to Indianapolis in Aug. of last year. Since these socks are sooo late, I decided to make a smaller version of the larger ones for my friends little four year old daughter. You know, so she could match mommy. (everybody together...awww)

Alrighty, on to the next pair. I have two more to finish before the end of the month. One is actually for me! Do you think I can do it. Sure I can....I am Yarn Thing! (I know, stupid...it even sounded stupid in my head and I still wrote it...getting too late :-)
