Did I make it in time?
Finished the second sock at 11:50 p.m. Pacific Time. Worked on it the whole day and at my little son's baseball game. Of course, I still cheered like a mad woman. They won! Woohoo!

My April socks were done yesterday but it still took me until the last few hours of the month to post. They're a generic toe-up sock pattern with a short row heel. The yarn is Sweet Georgia Speed Demon Sock Yarn in Elf colorway. They were quick, and I especially love these colors, despite the pooling.
I know that technically it is May 1st but I want to count these socks as April socks (its my 3rd pair so it really shouldn't matter). I did 99% of them in April and I feel that finishing them at 12:28 am on May 1st and calling them May socks is just not right.

I've been searching for my camera cable for a week now, with no luck at all.

Here they are, april socks!
I love Shepherd Sock! This is the Embers colorway. Beautiful as all of their others. My husband will have warm feet tomorrow... thanks for the extra motivation to finish them!

You know Zeno's Paradox (or, as I know now from Wikipedia, ONE of Zeno's Paradoxes)? The one that says you can't ever reach your destination because first you need to get halfway there, and before that, 1/4 of the way, and before that, 1/8 of the way, and before that, 1/16 of the way, and before that, 1/32 of the way... and on and on forever? That's how I feel about these socks. I knit the first one early in the month, and the second one just took forever, even though I clearly made great progress on it when I managed to work on it, and didn't really have that much to do. But they're done now! Unfortunately, I may submit the design somewhere, so here's the least distinctive photo I took. Toe-up, size 2 needle (I started on dpns and switched to 1 circ), with ribs and other stuff on the cuffs. Light blue, non-superwash, 100% merino. Not much more detail on my blog, I'm afraid.
My April socks are done, but it's a photo finish!

This month I was able to finish two pairs of socks. First up are my first pair of Jaywalkers. These were fun to knit and incredibly relaxing as the pattern is so easy to memorize. I used Socks That Rock in the colour Mist.

I finished knitting my April socks on Wednesday and Kitchenered/sewed in ends on Saturday, but I forgot to take them outside for a photo this weekend! I'll have to do that tonight.
I was so excited when I found this kal late last month! I love knitting socks and had been knitting like crazy for my dear husband....I mean, all the time. Well, here we are, last day of the month and what did I do last night?! I FROGGED that little which I had knit on a pair of socks for my husband! Earlier in the month, when I had great ambitions I had this: as I began the new design for Lonnie's socks....Now I have nothing, nadda, no socks for April, no A by my name
Yes, I know. But spinning has taken over my life. I did it though! I kitchenered the toe on my Thelonious socks last night. :)
They are done, done, done! These socks gave me fits. It is a simple pattern but I did all sorts of stupid things. But they match and they are done in April. Details will be on my blog in the next day or so.
I managed to finish one of my other pairs of socks today while I was riding around in a car and hanging out with some knitpals!

These socks seemed to take forever, but I did get my April socks done, in the nick of time.

I finished up my pair of socks for the month. These are the left twist portion of the "Diagonal Twist Socks" from Favorite Socks. The pattern is a bit obscure with the yarn, but as they are for a friend who loves purple, I don't think she'll mind too much.
And just in time for April SAM3. These are my first toe up socks. I made them for my little girl (although she hates the socks, she loves the yarn especially all that pink!). I used the generic toe up sock pattern from Knitty.com. The yarn is Lana Grossa Meilenwet. I didn't even try to make them matching but they just turned up that way. Onwards to socks for May!
Rather than post all the socks after the first pair this month, I thought I would just show you the last pair completed - Niagara Falls from Chameleon Color Works.
Harvest-coloured socks in a harvest pattern ...
... but finished in April!
Details on my blog, for those who wish them.

I squeezed another pair in for April - simple plain socks! I alternated 2 skeins of Koigu (supposedly the same color, but not even close!) For all the specifics, click here.
